Belarusian Alimbekova-Smolskaya won the overall standings of the Commonwealth Cup in biathlon
MOSCOW, 12 Mar – Belarusian biathlete Dinara Alimbekova-Smolskaya won the overall standings of the Commonwealth Cup.
On Sunday, she took sixth place at the final, sixth stage of the competition, which takes place in Tyumen. In the overall standings, she scored 1750 points, with Russians Victoria Slivko (1680) and Irina Kazakevich (1672) taking the second and third lines, respectively.
The Commonwealth Cup will end on Sunday with the men’s mass start. The Congress of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) in September decided to uphold the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until further notice amid the situation in Ukraine.
