Latypov won the pursuit at the stage of the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup in Raubichi
MOSCOW, 21 Jan – Russian biathlete Eduard Latypov became the winner of the pursuit at the fourth stage of the Commonwealth Cup, which takes place in the Belarusian Olympic training center Raubichi.
Latypov ran the distance in 33 minutes 7.9 seconds, with two misses on four firing lines. Second place was taken by Belarusian Dmitry Lazovsky, 26.4 seconds back (2 misses), while Russia’s Vasily Tomshin was third (+43.7; 1).
Also in the top six were the Russians Anton Babikov (4th, +1.14.6; 2), Karim Khalili (5th, +1.35.2; 3) and Alexei Povarnitsyn (6th, +1.44.4; 4 ).
The stage of the Commonwealth Cup with the participation of athletes from Russia and Belarus will end in Raubichi on January 22.
The Congress of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) in September decided to uphold the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until further notice amid the situation in Ukraine.
