Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has given a big reaction to the appointment of Matthew Hayden and Vernon Philander as the coach of Pakistan Cricket Team. He has justified this decision of the PCB and said that even though these two legends do not have any coaching experience, they can prove to be excellent coaches.
Former Australia player Matthew Hayden and former South African pacer Vernon Philander have been appointed as the new coaches of the Pakistan team. Hayden will take over as the batting coach and Philander will discharge his duties in the bowling department. Both these giants have been given this responsibility for the World Cup.
Salman Butt reacts to the appointment of Matthew Hayden and Vernon Philander on his YouTube channel. They said,
If we talk about experience, then Vernon Philander retired only last year. That’s why they don’t have coaching experience. Same was the case with Misbah-ul-Haq. Although Philander was very successful as a bowler. If they have good communication skills then I don’t think you need any course or 10 years experience to become a coach. If you can tell your point well to the front and motivate the players, then you are ready for coaching. There are many coaches in Pakistan cricket at the moment but their performance is very poor. That’s why you can’t become a good coach just by taking a coaching course.
