Novak Djokovic defeated Grigor Dimitrov in the third round of the Australian Open

MOSCOW, 21 Jan – Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic reached the 1/8 finals of the Australian Open (Australian Open), which takes place in Melbourne.
In the meeting of the third round, Djokovic, seeded under the fourth number, beat the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (27th seed) with a score of 7:6 (9:7), 6:3, 6:4. Tennis players spent 3 hours and 7 minutes on the court.
In the fourth round, Djokovic will play with Australian Alex de Minaur (22), who defeated the Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi – 7:6 (7:0), 6:2, 6:1. The match lasted 2 hours and 8 minutes.

Djokovic is a 21-time Grand Slam winner and a nine-time Australian Open champion (record). He was unable to play in Melbourne last year as he was deported by the Australian authorities due to lack of a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
The Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the season, will end on January 29th. Last year’s winner Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who defeated Russian Daniil Medvedev in the final, finished the fight in the second round.
