French tennis player Garcia defeated German Siegemund in the third round of the Australian Open

MOSCOW, 21 Jan – Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia beat German Laura Siegemund in the third round match of the Australian Open (Australian Open), which takes place in Melbourne.
The meeting ended with a score of 1:6, 6:3, 6:3 in favor of Garcia, seeded fourth in the tournament. Siegemund is ranked 158th in the WTA rankings. Tennis players spent 2 hours and 10 minutes on the court.

Garcia reached the second week of the Australian Open for the second time in her career, having previously done so in 2018. In the fourth round, the Frenchwoman will play against the winner of the match between Poland’s Magda Lynette and Russia’s Ekaterina Aleksandrova (19th seed).
The Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the season, will end on January 29th. The current winner of the tournament is Australian Ashleigh Barty, who announced her retirement in March 2022.
