Former Indian cricket team veteran Yuvraj Singh has made a big disclosure related to the 2007 T20 World Cup. He has said that he was expecting himself to be made the captain in place of MS Dhoni during the T20 World Cup.
During the 2007 T20 World Cup, Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar refused the captaincy. Both these players suggested the name of MS Dhoni. After which the selectors made MS Dhoni the captain and he made the team world champion under his leadership.

Yuvraj Singh’s statement about the 2007 T20 World Cup
Yuvraj Singh explained why most of the senior players had decided not to play in the tournament. On 22 Yarns podcast he said,
The Indian team had lost the 50-over World Cup. There was turmoil in Indian cricket. In addition, there was a two-month tour of England and a one-month tour of South Africa and Ireland in between. After this, the T20 World Cup was also to be organized in the same month. So everyone had to stay out of the house for four months. The seniors thought he would take the brakes and certainly no one took the T20 World Cup seriously. I was hoping that I would be made the captain during the 2007 T20 World Cup but Dhoni was made the captain.
Yuvraj Singh said that despite Dhoni getting the captaincy, the relationship between him and Dhoni never soured. They always had good relations.
