Russian tennis player Khachanov reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open after the refusal of Korda
MOSCOW, 24 Jan – Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov for the first time in his career reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open (Australian Open), which takes place in Melbourne.
In the quarterfinals, Khachanov (18th seed) met with American Sebastian Korda (29th), who, due to an injury, refused to continue the fight in the third set with a score of 7:6 (7:5), 6:3, 3:0 in favor of the Russian. Tennis players spent 1 hour and 50 minutes on the court.
Khachanov reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open for the first time in his career. In the next round, the Russian will play with the winner of the match between the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (3) and the Czech Jiri Legechka. Korda had previously beaten Russian Daniil Medvedev in the tournament.
