Khalili became the second in the overall standings of the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup, Smolsky – the third
MOSCOW, 12 Mar – Russian biathlete Karim Khalili took second place in the overall standings of the Commonwealth Cup.
On Saturday, an early victory in the Cup was scored by Eduard Latypov. On Sunday, he became the winner of the mass start at the last, sixth stage of the tournament, having won the last six races. Latypov scored 1817 points, Khalili – 1552. Belarusian Anton Smolsky closed the top three (1481).
The Congress of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) in September decided to uphold the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until further notice amid the situation in Ukraine.
