KHL clubs with 248 goals broke the Gagarin Cup first round scoring record
MOSCOW, 11 Mar – Clubs of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) broke the performance record for the first round of the Gagarin Cup, scoring a total of 248 goals, the league’s press service reports.
The previous achievement was set in the first round of the Gagarin Cup in 2011, when a total of 237 goals were scored.
Also a record for the first rounds of the playoffs was the average performance of 5.77 goals per game.
As of Saturday, five teams have overcome the barrier of the 1/8 finals of the Gagarin Cup: Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, Avangard Omsk, Admiral Vladivostok, Ak Bars Kazan and SKA St. Petersburg.
