Edwards defeated Usman to defend the UFC welterweight belt for the first time
MOSCOW, 19 Mar – British mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Leon Edwards defeated American Kamaru Usman and retained the UFC welterweight championship belt.
The main event of the 286th numbered league tournament in London lasted all five rounds and ended with the victory of the Briton by a majority decision.
This fight was the third face-to-face confrontation for the athletes: the first ended with Usman’s victory by unanimous decision, while in 2022 Edwards took revenge by knocking out his opponent a minute before the end of the title fight.
Edwards, who defended the belt for the first time, has 21 wins and three losses. Usman has 20 wins and three losses.
