Lucien Favre steps down as Nice manager

MOSCOW, Jan 9 – Swiss Lucien Favre has been relieved of his duties as head coach of Nice, according to the official website of the French football club.
Favre has been in charge of Nice since the summer of 2022. Then he replaced Christophe Galtier, who left for Paris Saint-Germain.
It is noted that former club captain Didier Digard, who previously worked with the youth team, will act as head coach of Nice.
Favre previously managed Nice from 2016 to 2018, leading the team to third place in the 2016/17 season. This season the club is 11th in Ligue 1. On Saturday, “Nice” flew out of the French Cup, losing to the team of the third division of the championship of France “Le Puy” (0:1).
