MOSCOW, 19 Mar – Basketball players “Nizhny Novgorod” beat the St. Petersburg “Zenith” in the final match of the Cup of Russia.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with the victory of the guests with a score of 84:72 (23:12, 19:24, 22:17, 20:19). The most productive player of the match was Trent Frazier of “Zenith”, which has 28 points. Nizhny Novgorod scored the most points with Ivan Strebkov (21).
Nizhny Novgorod won the Russian Cup for the first time, the club became the silver medalist of the tournament three times (2011, 2018, 2019). Zenit lost in the final for the second time, having previously taken second place in 2016.
In the match for third place, the Moscow MBA team had previously beaten Khimki near Moscow with a score of 77:68. Muscovites won medals of the Russian Cup for the first time.
