Norwegian skiers Schistad and Klebo win the World Cup sprint in Falun, Sweden
MOSCOW, 18 Mar – Norway’s Kristin Schistad and Johannes Klebo won the freestyle sprint race at the 13th World Cup in Falun, Sweden.
In the women’s sprint final, Schistad clocked 2 minutes and 55.6 seconds. Sweden’s Jonna Sundling was second (0.3 seconds back), and Maya Dahlqvist was third (+5.0).
Klebo took the lead in 2:52.73. Norwegian Erik Valnes (+0.73) and Italian Federico Pellegrino (+1.18) also got into the top three.
The Swedish Falun World Cup will run until March 19th. The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) suspended the Russians and Belarusians from the final starts of last season due to the situation in Ukraine. In October, the FIS Council extended the suspension for the 2022/23 season.
