MOSCOW, 18 Mar – Tokyo Olympic champion gymnast Nikita Nagorny and his wife Daria are expecting a baby.

The gymnast announced this on Saturday on Instagram (the activities of Meta (social networks Facebook and Instagram) are banned in Russia as extremist), posting a joint photo with his pregnant wife.

Nikita Nagorny won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in the team tournament. He also has a silver and two bronze medals at the Olympics. The gymnast is a three-time world champion.

Daria Nagornaya (nee – Spiridonova) is the world champion and silver medalist of the 2016 Olympics in artistic gymnastics, she ended her career in 2021.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the end of February recommended that sports federations not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in competitions due to the situation in Ukraine. In March, Russian athletes were suspended by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) from international competitions.
