Oman beat Nepal by 5 wickets in ICC Cricket World Cup Super League match

Oman defeated Nepal by 5 wickets in the second match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2. Batting first, Nepal’s team was dismissed for just 196 runs in 47.4 overs. Playing in reply, Oman won the match by scoring 200 runs for 5 wickets in the 32nd over. Jatinder Singh was adjudged player of the match.

Playing first after winning the toss, Nepal got off to a bad start. Kushal Bhurtel was out without opening the account. After this, Asif Sheikh and Gyanendra Malla played a half-century partnership for the second wicket. Malla got out after scoring 21 runs, then Rohit Paudel came to the crease and scored 20 runs. Asif Sheikh kept on scoring runs standing at one end and wickets kept falling at the other end. He was dismissed after scoring 90 runs and the team was reduced to 196 runs. Bilal Khan took 4 wickets for Oman team. Nestor Dhamba also took 2 wickets.

Playing in reply, Oman lost the wicket of Shoaib Khan (7) first. After this, Ayan Khan was also dismissed after scoring 18 runs. The team looked in trouble as Zeeshan Maqsood (4) was dismissed but Jatinder Singh and Mohammad Nadeem added a few runs for the fourth wicket. Jatinder was dismissed for 107 after completing his century and brought the team closer to victory. In this way, Oman won the match by scoring 200 runs for 5 wickets in the 32nd over.

Nepal had defeated the US team in the earlier match but this time their batting was lackluster in front of host Oman. The Oman team took full advantage of the home conditions to make the match one-sided.
