Paris mayor says Parc des Princes will not be sold to PSG owners
MOSCOW, 15 Jan – The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, said the capital’s Parc des Princes stadium is the exclusive heritage of the citizens, the arena will not be sold to the owners of the Paris Saint-Germain football club.
PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi of Qatar called the purchase of the stadium owned by the municipality a condition for work on its modernization and expansion in the amount of 500 million euros.
The Parc des Princes stadium was opened in 1897 and was originally a velodrome. The arena has been PSG’s home since 1974. Its capacity is 48 thousand people. The last time the Parc des Princes was reconstructed was in 1972.
