Figure skater Muravyova will headline the third stage of the Moscow Sports Cup
MOSCOW, Jan 24 – Sofya Muravyova, who trains under the guidance of two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko, will headline the third stage of the Moscow Sports Cup in figure skating, the organizers of the tournament said.
The third stage of the Moscow Sports Cup in figure skating, a team youth competition among athletes aged 6 to 12, organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Moscow, will be held on January 28, 2023 at the small arena of the CSKA sports complex. More than 80 figure skaters from 10 figure skating schools will come together in the fight for reaching the final of the tournament and the main prize – the opportunity to get into the first children’s national team of the city of Moscow.
Muravyova will show a gala number at the tournament. “Figure skating is a sport in which you need to be ready to compete at the top level from a very young age. A year ago, I competed at the youth championship, and now I need to be ready to compete with the best in the adult championship. Moscow Sports Cup and competitions like this are the best suited to instill in young athletes the spirit of a winner and nurture sporting ambitions, ensuring a smooth transition to the next stage of their career,” said Muravyova.
