MOSCOW, 23 Jan – Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev said that reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open (Australian Open) was perhaps the most fortunate moment in his life.
On Monday, the Russian won the fourth round match against Dane Holger Rune with a score of 6:3, 3:6, 6:3, 4:6, 7:6 (11:9). Rublev won back two match points in the fifth set, he lost in a super tie-break with a score of 0:5, 2:6 and 3:7.
Rublev will face nine-time tournament winner Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals.
“Novak is extremely difficult to beat, especially at Grand Slam tournaments. He has a lot of experience of winning such matches. He is one of the best in history. The only chance I have is to fight for every ball,” added the Russian, who had previously lost all six quarter-finals at Grand Slam tournaments.
