Rublev made the quarterfinals of the Australian Open for the second time in his career. According to statistical service Opta, the Russian became the second tennis player of the Open Era (since 1968) after Spaniard Tommy Robredo to lose all seven quarterfinals at the Grand Slam tournaments in which he participated.
The Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the season, will end on January 29th. Last year’s winner Spaniard Rafael Nadal finished the fight in the second round.
