MOSCOW, 8 Jan – Russian striker “Columbus Blue Jackets” Kirill Marchenko was recognized as the third star of the game of the day in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Marchenko scored three goals in a 4-3 OT win over the Carolina Hurricanes, becoming the first NHL rookie in the 2022-23 season to score a hat-trick. In total, the Russian scored eight goals in 15 games for the Blue Jackets.

Buffalo Sabers defenseman Rasmus Dalin won first place with two goals and three assists in a 6-5 OT win over the Minnesota. The second star of the day was New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes, who scored two goals and provided an assist in a 4-3 OT game against the New York Rangers.
