Shevchenko won the pursuit at the last stage of the Commonwealth Cup in biathlon
MOSCOW, 11 Mar – Anastasia Shevchenko became the winner of the pursuit at the final, sixth stage of the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup, which takes place in Tyumen.
She covered the distance of 10 km in 30 minutes 43.7 seconds, with one miss on four firing lines. Victoria Slivko was second (14.1 seconds back; 1 miss), while Ekaterina Noskova (+28.5; 3) won bronze.
Irina Kazakevich finished fifth, Ekaterina Yurlova-Perkht – sixth. The best of the Belarusians was Dinara Alimbekova, who finished the race in fourth place.
The Commonwealth Cup will end on March 12 with the men’s and women’s mass starts. The Congress of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) in September decided to uphold the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until further notice amid the situation in Ukraine.
