There is good news for the fans watching IPL in UAE. The tournament will no longer be played in closed doors, but fans will be allowed to come. It was announced on Wednesday. In a media advisory of IPL, it has been said that the fans will now get to see the action closely. The tournament is ready to welcome the fans.

The Vivo Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will resume with five-time champions and current title holders Mumbai Indians on September 19 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium along with three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings, an IPL release said. This match will be a momentous occasion as IPL will welcome its fans back to the stadium after a brief hiatus due to the COVID 19 situation.

IPL A will be organized keeping in mind the corona virus protocol. The tournament will be played with a limited number of seats. The matches are to be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Last year too, the tournament was shifted from India to the UAE due to the coronavirus, at which time matches were played in closed doors without spectators. This time with the rules, it has been announced to allow some spectators to come to the stadium and watch the match. The corona virus has been controlled in the UAE and the rules of the government are also strict.

Significantly, during the first phase of IPL in April-May, some corona cases were found in the teams. After this the tournament was postponed. The second wave of Corona in India was quite fierce, so the UAE was chosen as the venue, considering the September window to be suitable for re-organizing the tournament.

A total of 29 matches were played in the first phase of IPL. Now 31 matches are left. These include playoffs and final matches as well. It remains to be seen whether there is any change in the team’s game after moving to the UAE. Delhi Capitals topped the table.
