Red Bull driver Verstappen leads driver’s standings after Formula 1 second round
MOSCOW, 19 Mar – Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen leads the drivers’ standings after the second round of the Formula 1 championship, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which took place on a night city circuit in Jeddah.
The two-time Formula 1 champion finished second in the race. In total, the Dutchman has 44 points. Second is another Red Bull pilot, Mexican Sergio Perez (43 points), who won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Third place is taken by Spaniard Fernando Alonso (27) from Aston Martin.
The full top ten drivers standings are as follows: 1. Verstappen (44 points); 2. Perez (43); 3. Alonso (27); 4. George Russell, Mercedes (21); 5. Carlos Sainz, Ferrari (20); 6. Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes (20); 7. Lance Stroll, Aston Martin (8); 8. Charles Leclerc, Ferrari (6); 9. Valtteri Bottas, Alfa Romeo (4); 10. Esteban Ocon, Alpin (4).
Red Bull lead the Constructors’ Championship with 87. The top five teams also include Mercedes (41), Aston Martin (35), Ferrari (26) and Alpin (8).
The next Formula 1 round will take place in Melbourne, Australia from March 31 to April 2.
