During the virtual press conference on Saturday, Virat Kohli gave a statement about Hasranga and Chamira. He said that having these two players would greatly benefit the team in UAE conditions. They said,
Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson were with us in the first half but they decided not to play in the second half and the reason they gave is very valid. We have included Vanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera as their replacements. Both these players have played a lot of cricket for Sri Lanka and know very well how to play on such pitches. The skills he has are going to benefit the team a lot. The arrival of these two players has brought diversity and made the team stronger.
