Leicester beat Legia to lead Europa League Group C
MOSCOW, 26 Nov – English “Leicester” at home beat the Polish “Legia” in the fifth round of the group stage of the Europa League.
The game ended with a score of 3: 1 in favor of the English team, which were distinguished by Patson Duck (11th minute), James Maddison (21) and Wilfred Ndidi (33). Filip Mladenovic (26) scored a goal for Legia, before that Mahir Emreli missed a penalty.
Leicester are in the lead in the group C standings with 8 points. Russian “Spartak” and Italian “Napoli” have 7 points each, “Legia” has 6 points. In the last round, Spartak will play away with Legia, Napoli will take Leicester. Both games will take place on December 9th. The first two teams in the group will advance to the Europa League playoffs, and the third to the Conference League playoffs.
