Ovechkin continues to tear apart the NHL. Alexander has set another record!

“Washington” beat “Montreal”, Ovechkin made three assists, Kuznetsov and Orlov have one goal

After a sensational defeat to NHL debutants Seattle Kraken, the Washington Capitals returned home to welcome another league outsider, the Montreal Canadiens. Yesterday’s Stanley Cup finalists are having a terrible new season in the National Hockey League. The Canadian grand is making out series after series of defeats and has celebrated success only five times in 20 previous meetings. For Washington, such a battered Montreal was a much-desired prey to cover up a past setback in Seattle. And the hunt for the “capital” was a success!
Peter Lavioletta’s charges sent six goals to the Canadiens’ goal. More this season, “Washington” managed to score only in a match with “Ottawa Senators” (5: 7) – the absolute worst team in the current regular season. Naturally, the Russian stars Capitals took an active part in the destruction of the Hubs.
Firstly, the next goal was scored by Evgeny Kuznetsov, whose trip to the Olympics in Beijing we continue to dream about. Moreover, Evgeny hit the opponent’s goal in the most mocking way. Alexander Ovechkin moved away from the goal and gave it to John Carlson, who shot to the far post, where the uncovered Kuznetsov calmly took the puck and simply put it in the frame. I didn’t even have to quit!
Secondly, Dmitry Orlov did not leave the site without effective actions. The Russian defender assisted Nick Daud in the opening of the match, and in the third period he distinguished himself. Dmitry did not invent anything and simply fired a powerful shot from an acute angle from the left side, and after a small ricochet the puck flew into the goal.
And thirdly, Alexander Ovechkin could not help but declare himself. While everyone is talking about his pursuit of Wayne Gretzky’s eternal record for regular season goals, Ovi imagines himself to be a super assistant. Today the Russian captain of “Washington” made as many as three assists, one of them – just to Kuznetsov. For Ovechkin, this assistant hat-trick was the first since February 2018, if we take into account the regular championships. Then from Alexander suffered “Minnesota Wild”, who had not yet dreamed of Kirill Kaprizov.
Naturally, such an extravaganza of Ovechkin led the great Russian striker to another unique achievement, of which there are already countless ones. Having made three assists, the Russian brought the number of points scored to 33 (15 + 18) in the first 20 matches of the season. In the entire history of “Washington” no one has been able to achieve such a thing. It’s amazing how Alexander, at 36, continues to butt the insatiable Leon Dreisitel and Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers. Ovi, by the way, has bypassed the second in the list of NHL scorers, but, probably, this will not last long. Ahead of the “oil” match with “Arizona”.
