MOSCOW, 25 Nov – Russian Vasily Tomshin finished fifth in the sprint race at the first stage of the IBU Cup held in Idre (Sweden).
The winner was the German Lucas Fratcher, who covered the distance of 10 km in 24 minutes 10.6 seconds with one penalty. Second place went to Norway’s Sverre Dalen Aspens (+0.3, 1 penalty), followed by Germany’s Johannes Kühn (+1.6, 1 penalty). Tomshin’s gap was 29.3 seconds with two penalties.
Russian Alexander Povarnitsyn finished ninth (+34.0, 1 miss), Anton Babikov – 12th (+43.2, 2 misses), Ilnaz Mukhamedzyanov – 13th (+52.4, 2 misses), Kirill Streltsov – 62nd (+2.32.3, 5 misses). Nikita Porshnev did not start.
In the women’s sprint race earlier on Thursday, the victory was won by the German woman Marion Wiezenzarter, who covered the distance of 7.5 km in 21 minutes 2.3 seconds with one penalty, the second was the Frenchwoman Caroline Colombo (+0.5, 2 penalties), the third was the Ukrainian Daria Blaszko (+3.1, 1 miss). The best result among Russians was shown by Anastasia Shevchenko, who took fourth place (+3.7, 1 miss), Evgenia Burtasova came in ninth (+18.3, 1 miss), Tamara Derbusheva – 18th (+50.1, 1 miss) , Anastasia Goreeva – 34th (1.21.4, 4 misses), Ekaterina Noskova – 47th (+1.45.7, 4 misses).
