Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan voiced his discomfort with Virat Kohli’s aggressive celebration after Abhishek Sharma’s dismissal during an IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on May 23, 2025, at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.

Kishan, a key SRH batsman, stated, “When Abhishek got out, Virat bhai’s aggression felt really bad to me. It hurts a lot when a player who sees you as their idol celebrates like that after getting you out,” as reported by Dainik Bhaskar.

The match saw SRH secure a 42-run victory, with Kishan scoring an unbeaten 94 off 48 balls (seven fours, five sixes), helping set a formidable 231/6. Sharma added 34 runs before his dismissal which triggered Kohli’s celebration.

A post on X reflected similar criticism, calling Kohli’s reaction excessive and highlighting the potential of young players like Sharma and Kishan to lead Indian cricket.
