Ajax win 36th Dutch league title
MOSCOW, May 11 – Ajax defeated Heerenveer in the match of the 33rd round of the Dutch Football Championship and won the league title for the second consecutive season.
The meeting, held in Amsterdam, ended with the score 5:0. Goals in the match were scored by Nicolas Tagliafico (19th minute), Steven Berghuis (33), Sebastien Haller (38, from the penalty spot), Brian Brobbie (85) and Edson Alvarez (90).
Ajax have been crowned Dutch champions for a record 36th time. The team from Amsterdam won the title for the second consecutive season.
With one round to go in the Dutch league, Ajax are in first place with 82 points from 33 matches. Second-placed PSV has 78 points. “Herenveren” (38) is on the ninth line.
