Tennis player Alcaraz at the age of 19 won the Masters in Madrid, defeating Zverev in an hour
MOSCOW, May 8 – Spaniard Carlos Alcaras became the winner of the Masters tennis tournament in Madrid, the prize fund of which exceeds 6.7 million euros.
Alcaraz, seeded under the seventh number, in the final defeated the second racket of the tournament, the representative of Germany, Alexander Zverev, with a score of 6:3, 6:1. The match lasted 1 hour and 2 minutes.
The Spaniard, who turned 19 on May 5, became the youngest player in the ATP Tour era (since 1990) to defeat three top-five players in the same tournament (Spain Rafael Nadal, Serb Novak Djokovic and Zverev).
This is Alcaraz’s fifth career ATP singles title and fourth in 2022. This season, the Spaniard leads in terms of the number of wins in matches and the number of titles won.
