MOSCOW, 25 Jul – Team USA won 13 gold medals and won the medal count at the World Championships in Athletics, which was held in Eugene, USA.
The Americans also have nine silver and 11 bronze awards. In total, athletes from the United States won 33 medals.
The second place in the medal standings was taken by the Ethiopian team, which won four gold, four silver and two bronze medals (10 medals). Jamaica came third with two gold, seven silver and one bronze medals (10).
The World Championships in Athletics took place from 15 to 24 July. The Council of the World Athletics Association (World Athletics) on March 1, against the backdrop of events in Ukraine, suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in international tournaments, including the World Championships in Eugene. Prior to that, due to a doping scandal, since 2015, the Russians had the right to play in a neutral status.
