MOSCOW, 27 Jul – Former Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Manchester United, can’t move to Atlético Madrid, said club president Enrique Cerezo.
Earlier it was reported that Ronaldo could leave Manchester United after the team failed to break into the Champions League at the end of last season. There were suggestions in the media that the Portuguese could continue his career in Paris Saint-Germain or Atlético Madrid.
“I don’t know who came up with this story, but it’s almost impossible for Ronaldo to go to Atlético,” Spanish radio station CORE quoted Cerezo as saying.
Ronaldo moved to Manchester United from Italian side Juventus in the summer of 2021. The Portuguese is a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, European champion in 2016, and a five-time Champions League winner, four of which he won with Real Madrid.
