MOSCOW, 22 Jul – Footballers of Belarusian BATE lost to Turkish Konyaspor in the first match of the second qualifying round of the Conference League.
The meeting in the city of Konya ended with the score 3:0 in favor of the Turkish club. The winners scored Zumer Butyuki (39th minute), Konrad Michalak (58) and Robert Muric (90+5). Belarusian football players were unable to take advantage of the numerical advantage. In the 40th minute, having received a second yellow card, Konyaspor player Ugurcan Yazgyly was sent off.
The return match will be held on July 28. Earlier, the executive committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) banned matches under the auspices of the organization on the territory of Belarus because of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.
