MOSCOW, 24 July – Bellator CEO Scott Cocker said the organization will consider the desire of Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Fedor Emelianenko to fight his last fight against US heavyweight champion Ryan Bader.
Bader in August 2019 defeated Emelianenko by knockout in the first minute of the fight. It remains for the Russian to hold the final fight under the contract with Bellator.
“Fedor really wants this fight. We had such a conversation. He will have the last fight under the contract. He told me that he wants to end his career. I did not talk about this with Bader. It’s hard for Fedor to refuse. We will definitely discuss this option. Contracts are not yet signed, but we will definitely discuss the possibility of this fight,” Cocker was quoted by MMAJunkie.
Emelianenko is 45 years old. During his career in MMA, he won 40 victories with six losses. The 39-year-old American has 30 wins and seven losses.
