Russian boxer Beterbiev will hold a title fight against Yard on January 28 in London
MOSCOW, 10 Oct – The light heavyweight fight (up to 79.4 kg) between Russian boxer Artur Beterbiev and Anthony Yarde will take place on January 28 in London, British promoter Frank Warren said in an interview with IFL TV.
At stake will be the titles of the World Boxing Council (WBC), the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO), owned by the Russian.
The fight was originally scheduled for October 29, but it was postponed due to an injury to the 37-year-old Russian.
Beterbiev defeated American Joe Smith Jr. in June by technical knockout. The athlete retained the WBC and IBF championship belts, and also took away the WBO champion title from the American.
In the professional ring, Beterbiev won 18 victories (all by knockout) in 18 fights. Yard is 31 years old, he has 22 wins (21 by knockout) and two defeats.
