The five-time World Cup champions now find themselves trailing on qualification points table. With just 10 points from 8 matches, Brazil sits in 5th place in South American qualifiers, 8 points behind leaders Argentina.
Amidst team’s struggles, all eyes are on Neymar’s return. Brazil’s all-time top scorer has been out of action since October last year due to injury. However, fans hoping to see Neymar back on field might have to wait a little longer.
Brazil coach Diniz, while announcing squad for October’s World Cup qualifiers, asked for patience regarding Neymar’s return. Neymar’s club coach at Al Hilal, Jorge Jesus, also mentioned recently that Neymar is not yet ready for a comeback.

Speaking about Neymar’s return, Diniz said, “We know how important he is for us, and we are waiting for him. We need to be patient. Whether he returns in October, November, or February, it doesn’t matter. He must be confident and fully fit.”
In the meantime, Barcelona winger Raphinha and Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli have been called up for upcoming qualifiers. Real Madrid stars Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, and Endrick are also included in squad.

In addition to the familiar faces, Diniz has introduced two new players to the team: Abner, who plays for Lyon, and Botafogo forward Igor Jesus.
Brazil’s next World Cup qualifier is on October 11 at 6:00 AM against Chile. Their following match is on October 16 at 6:45 AM against Peru. Fans will be eager to see if Brazil can regain their form in these two crucial matches.
