Canadian basketball players set World Cup assists record
MOSCOW, 27 Aug – The Canadian basketball team defeated the Lebanese team in a World Cup preliminary round match hosted by Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan.
Group H meeting, held in Jakarta, ended with the score 128:73 (29:13, 37:17, 34:18, 28:25). RJ Barrett led the way with 17 points.
In total, Canadian basketball players have made 44 passes and have updated the World Cup record since 1994, when they began to keep official statistics on this indicator. The previous achievement belonged to the national teams of Canada and Serbia, which in the 2019 tournament gave 37 assists.
