Cherchesov will come to Azerbaijan

The Hungarian champion has already overcome two qualifying rounds of the most prestigious club tournament in Europe. To begin with, Ferencvaros knocked out Tobol from the Champions League, although questions remained after the first match. In Kazakhstan, the teams played on zeros, but at home the Hungarian club tore the opponent to pieces – 5:1. Next, Cherchesov had a meeting with the former head coach of Saturn, Vladimir Weiss Sr., who now works at Slovan. In Budapest, Ferencváros was unlucky – they lost with a score of 1: 2, conceding both goals in the end. A week later, Cherchesov’s team still coped with the opponent on the road and advanced to the next round of the tournament.

Now the best Hungarian club will play with Qarabag. The Azerbaijani club knocked out the champion of Switzerland from the tournament, and this required overtime. In the first match, Qarabag beat Zurich (3:2), and in the second match, the teams tied 2:2. A year ago, the Azerbaijani team played in the Conference League and reached the first round of the playoffs, where they lost to Marseille. The winner of the Qarabag-Ferencvaros pair will not be seeded in the next round.

Golovin has a difficult grid

It is already known for sure that Monaco will start their performance in the Champions League qualification with PSV. The first match will take place on August 2 in France, the return match will take place a week later in the Netherlands. By the way, the teams have already met each other last season, but then it was in the group stage of the Europa League. Monaco beat the opponent on the road (2:1), and in the return game the spectators did not see any goals.

If the team of Alexander Golovin passes the third stage of qualification, it will be in the playoff round. There, however, it will be among the unseeded clubs. Monaco’s potential rivals include four teams: Benfica, Midtjylland, Union and Rangers. On paper, the most difficult thing will be with the Portuguese club, although the Scots are capable of much. No wonder the Rangers made it to the Europa League final last season.

“Dazzling Golovin!” The Russian scored “Inter” and delighted the French

Khaikin is waiting for a meeting with the champion of Lithuania

Goalkeeper Nikita Khaikin will take part in the third qualifying round. The Russian played the return match with Linfield to zero, and his team simply destroyed the opponent – 8:0. But the Norwegian champion lost a week on the road (0:1), and it seemed that nothing was clear in this pair. Now Khaikin’s team is waiting for a meeting with the champion of Lithuania – “Zalgiris”. This club beat Malmö twice, and before that, FC Balkans from Kosovo passed with great difficulty.

The Lithuanian Championship is held according to the “spring-autumn” system, so “Zalgiris” has already played 18 matches in the tournament. However, in Norway, the situation is almost the same – Bode-Glimt has 15 meetings. The Lithuanian club is still leading in its championship, while the Norwegian team is in third place. The winner of the Zalgiris-Bodø-Glimt pair will receive unseeded status in the playoff round.

By the way, Pyunik made it to the third round of qualification. He defeated Dudelange on the road (4:1), but a week ago he lost in his field, but only with a minimum score – 0:1. Russian midfielder Nikolai Kovalenko plays in the Armenian champion. Now his team will face Red Star. In case of victory, the club from Yerevan will be seeded in the playoff round.
