MOSCOW, 28 Aug – Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle with Italian Roma on loan for Belgian international Romelu Lukaku, according to journalist Matt Lowe on X (formerly Twitter).

According to the source, the lease agreement will be for one season. Roma will pay £5m and Lukaku will earn around £6m. The deal will be formalized after the signing of the contract.

Lukaku joined Chelsea from Italy’s Inter in 2021. Last season he spent at Inter on loan, played in 37 matches, scored 14 goals, made 7 assists and won the Italian Cup and Super Cup. He is also Italian champion, FA Cup winner, Club World Cup winner with Chelsea and Belgian champion with Anderlecht.

Lukaku made 108 appearances for the Belgian national team and won the bronze medal at the 2018 World Cup.
