MOSCOW, 28 Jul – Heading the Hungarian football club “Ferencváros” Russian specialist Stanislav Cherchesov said he was sure that his team would turn the tide of confrontation with the Bratislava “Slovan” in the second round of the Champions League qualification.
Ferencváros advanced to the third round of the Champions League qualification on Wednesday with a 4-1 away win over Slovan. In the first game “Ferencvaros” lost to “Slovan” – 1:2. The next opponent of the Hungarian team will be the Azerbaijani “Karabakh”.
“I knew that I was leading a good team and I was sure that we could turn the tide of the confrontation. We were unhappy after the first match, which we lost. After that, I spoke with each player individually. In Bratislava, on the field, too, not everything went as we wanted to, but for the most part what happened was what we planned. Winning on Wednesday was just one of the first steps towards the group stage – the main goal. There is another important match coming up soon that we should focus on. At the Qarabag match on Wednesday was one of our observers, he will help analyze the opponent,” Cherchesov is quoted as saying by the official website of Ferencváros.
