Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis batted brilliantly to lead their team to the finals of the major tournament

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have made it to the final of the CPL 2021. In the semi-final match, St Kitts defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by seven wickets. Playing first, Guyana scored 178 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, in reply St Kitts and Nevis Patriots easily achieved the target in 17.5 overs for the loss of three wickets. Evin Lewis was adjudged the player of the match for his scintillating batting.

Earlier, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots captain Dwayne Bravo won the toss and elected to bowl. Playing first, Guyana Amazon Warriors got off to a good start and the opening pair of Brandon King and Chanderpaul Hemraj put on 33 runs for the first wicket. Both the players scored 27-27 runs.

Veteran batsman Shoaib Malik flopped once again. In the middle order, captain Nicholas Pooran scored 26 runs off 14 balls, while Shimron Hetmyer scored 45 not out off 20 balls with the help of two fours and four sixes. This was the reason why the team managed to score 178.

Chasing the target, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots got off to a great start by the opening pair of Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis. Both the batsmen added 76 runs for the first wicket in 7.2 overs. During this, Gayle appeared in a very aggressive mood and played an innings of 42 runs in 27 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes.

After his dismissal, captain Dwayne Bravo and Evin Lewis ensured their team’s victory by sharing 88 runs for the second wicket. Evin Lewis remained unbeaten on 77 off 39 balls with the help of three fours and eight sixes, while Dwayne Bravo scored 34 off 31 balls. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots will now face St Lucia Kings in the final.
