One-third of the world’s population is under lockdown due to corona. The world is moving towards an economic recession.

In this case, not only the players but also the teams are also helping financially to protect the corona. Players from Spain’s clubs Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid have all had their salaries deducted.

Ronaldo’s team in Italy, Euventus, has done the same. Now for the first time any cricket team has done this. England players have announced a 25% cut of their salary. The players have deducted a total of Rs 4.6 crore.

The cotract list in England consists of three parts. First for Test matches, second for ODIs and third increment list. The cricketer included in the list of Test matches is paid Rs 6.5 crore annually. Those on the ODI list get Rs 1.5 crore annually.

The board has not given information about the increments. If compared to Indian players, 7 crore is paid in Grade A Plus, 5 crore in Grade-A, 3 crore in Grade-B and Rs. 1 crore in Grade-C.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has awarded contracts to 26 players in the year 2020. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jaspreet Bumrah have been included in A Plus. There are 11 players in Grade-A, 5 in Grade-B and 8 in Grade-C.

As of now, the players have not made the salary cut. Players get salary cuts to help clubs and boards abroad. This should not inconvenience the employees working in the club and the board.
