MOSCOW, 27 Jul – Italian “Fiorentina” wants to terminate the contract with Russian footballer Alexander Kokorin, according to the portal Fiorentina.it with reference to Corriere dello Sport.
According to the source, Fiorentina will be able to terminate the contract with the Russian only after the payment of all wages due to him. Kokorin’s agreement with “violets” expires at the end of the summer of 2024. For the remaining term of the contract, the Italian club must pay the striker 3.6 million euros.
On Wednesday, Kokorin did not receive a call to Fiorentina’s pre-season training camp as part of an international tour in Austria and Spain. In this regard, the Russian runs the risk of being left out of the team in the new season, which starts on August 13.
Last week, Kokorin arrived at the location of Fiorentina when the team was at a training camp in the Benatti sports center in the commune of Moena (Italy). Kokorin held a training session on the auxiliary field. After that, the Russian was photographed with the fans and signed autographs. In July, Kokorin missed part of the training camp due to the coronavirus.
Kokorin moved to Fiorentina in January 2021 from Spartak Moscow. The contract of the 31-year-old player with the club runs until 2024. Last season, he played six matches in the Italian championship, while he never appeared in the starting lineup.
