At 39, Ronaldo’s earnings reached a record $285 million, with $220 million from his club and $65 million from other ventures.

Forbes notes that since 1990, only boxer Floyd Mayweather has earned more in a single year among all athletes tracked by the magazine.
Lionel Messi, forward for Inter Miami and Argentina, took second place, while Neymar, forward for Al-Hilal and Brazil, ranked third.
