CSKA bounced back with 0:2 and defeated Lokomotiv in the second match of the series 1/4 finals of the Gagarin Cup
MOSCOW, 19 Mar – CSKA defeated Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the second match of the second round of the playoffs of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
The meeting in Moscow ended with the score 3:2 (0:1, 2:1, 1:0) in favor of the hosts. As part of the winners, goals were scored by Maxim Mamin (35th minute), Darren Dietz (36) and Mikhail Grigorenko (44). The guests scored Denis Alekseev (4) and Maxim Berezkin (33).

CSKA forward Sergei Plotnikov played his 800th game in the KHL and became the seventh player in league history to reach this mark. During the meeting, he was injured and did not go on the ice in the third period. His teammate Vladislav Kamenev scored an assist and scored 100th point in the KHL. Lokomotiv striker Maxim Shalunov played his 100th match in the league playoffs.
The score in the series up to four wins was 2-0 in favor of CSKA. The third and fourth matches of the confrontation will be held on March 21 and 23 in Yaroslavl. The teams meet in the KHL playoffs for the third time in a row, in both previous cases the army team won – in the quarterfinals of the Gagarin Cup in the 2020/21 season (4-3) and a year later in the first round (4-0).
