MOSCOW, 14 Aug — Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev quarreled with a fan who insulted him.
The incident occurred on August 11 after a match in Montreal with Australian Nick Kyrgios. The Russian lost to the opponent in three sets – 7:6 (7:2), 4:6, 2:6.
Medvedev was leaving the court when one of the spectators shouted the word “loser” at him. The tennis player turned around and approached the fan. They began a tense dialogue, after which the Russian advised the man to “turn on his brains.”
Medvedev is the first racket of the world. He has been on the top line of the rating for 12 weeks.
