MOSCOW, 21 July – Dane Jonas Wingegaard of the Jumbo-Visma team won the 18th stage of the Tour de France stage race.
He covered the 143.5 km stage in 3 hours 59 minutes 50 seconds. The current champion Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (+1.04) from UAE Team Emirates finished second, the Belgian cyclist Wout van Art from Jumbo-Visma (+2.10) finished third.
Russian Bora-Hansgrohe cyclist Alexander Vlasov (+4.04), riding a neutral flag, finished ninth.
Wingegaard leads the general classification with a total time of 71 hours 53 minutes 34 seconds. The second is Pogacar (+3.26), the third place is occupied by Briton Geraint Thomas from Ineos Grenadiers (+8.00). Vlasov is in seventh place (+14.10).
Stage 19, 188.5 km long, will take place on July 22. The cycling race will finish on July 24 in Paris.
