Memphis Defender Morant Named Most Improved Player in the NBA
MOSCOW, 26 April – Memphis NBA guard Ja Morant has won the NBA’s Most Improved Player award.
The Most Improved Player award has been presented since the 1985/86 season. It is awarded to the player who has made the most progress during the regular season. The winner is chosen by sports journalists from the USA and Canada.
Morant received this prize for the first time. As a result of voting, he scored 221 points. Second place went to San Antonio defenseman Dejonte Murray (183), and Cleveland defenseman Darius Garland was third with 178.
Morant has played 57 games this season and averaged 27.4 points, 6.7 assists and 5.7 rebounds.
