MOSCOW, 6 Sep – World champion in the Italian national team Alessandro Del Piero believes that the Georgian football player of the Italian “Napoli” Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was created in order to play in European championships.
Kvaratskhelia moved from Rubin to Georgian Dynamo (Batumi) in March. He suspended the contract, taking advantage of the permission of the International Football Federation (FIFA). In April, it became known that the player would sign a contract with Napoli. In early July, he officially joined the Italian team.
“Have Napoli become weaker since Kalidou Coulibaly moved to Chelsea and Lorenzo Insigne to Toronto? No, on the contrary, I think Napoli have become stronger. I admire the work of (Luciano) Spalletti. The club has a positive attitude and mentality worthy of a top team. Kvaratskhelia is unpredictable and talented, he is made to play in Europe,” Del Piero was quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Kvaratskhelia scored four goals and made one assist in five matches of the Italian championship. He ranks second in the list of scorers of the tournament. Bologna’s Marko Arnautovic is in the lead with five goals.
