Djokovic called Alcaraz the best tennis player in the world at the moment

MOSCOW, May 9 – Serb Novak Djokovic, the first racket of the world, called the Spaniard Carlos Alcaras the strongest tennis player on the planet at the moment.
Last week, Alcaraz became the winner of the Masters in Madrid. This is his fifth career ATP singles title and his fourth in 2022. The Spaniard, who turned 19 on May 5, became the youngest player in the ATP Tour era (since 1990) to defeat three players from the world’s top five in a single tournament. In Madrid, he beat the Spaniard Rafael Nadal, Djokovic himself and the German Alexander Zverev.
“He (Alcaraz) is definitely a special player. At such a young age, he has already broken many records, winning two Masters this year, a pair of ATP 500s. No question, so far he is the best player in the world this year with his results,” Djokovic was quoted as saying by the ATP website.
“The way he dealt with the pressure in our match a few days ago, how calm he was until the very end, it was impressive. He deserved a trophy. Everything about his game is really impressive. He is a really perfect player, he can play equally well in attack, and in defense. The whole sports world is talking about him,” the Serb added.
